What is KMYF?

United by Purpose, Driven by Service

Karnataka Marwari Youth Federation (KMYF) began as a spark—ignited by a group of passionate youngsters who believed that real change begins with action. Formed on November 1st, 1981, KMYF was created to encourage responsible citizenship and offer a platform for youth to contribute meaningfully to society. Over the decades, it has grown into a recognized force for good, driven by a simple belief: when people come together for a cause, miracles happen.

What started as a grassroots movement has now evolved into a vibrant federation of over 100 professionals—doctors, engineers, industrialists, journalists, and changemakers—each bringing their expertise, compassion, and commitment to a wide range of community welfare projects. From running a mobile dental clinic and distributing artificial limbs to transforming government schools and providing dialysis to the underprivileged, KMYF’s impact touches lives every single day.

Our mission doesn’t stop at long-term programs. KMYF has always stepped up in times of national crises—be it natural disasters like earthquakes and floods or tragic events like the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Tsunami, Kargil War, food packets during COVID, food supplies to returnees from Sudan in 2023 and the Venus Circus fire. Whether through immediate relief or ground-level volunteering, our members have consistently shown up with courage and compassion when it’s needed most.

Recognized with the Karnataka Rajyotsava Award in 1991, KMYF stands as a symbol of grassroots leadership and youth-driven impact. As we look ahead, we continue to serve with humility, build with integrity, and inspire others to join us in shaping a more equitable and caring society.

Our Work

At KMYF, we believe that meaningful impact comes from sustained, hands-on involvement. Our initiatives span across critical areas like healthcare, education, and rehabilitation—offering practical solutions that uplift underserved communities.

D. R. Ranka Dialysis Center

A lifeline for patients with kidney failure, the D. R. Ranka Dialysis Center offers dialysis services at no-cost & kidney transplants in a state-of-the-art facility. The center is equipped with world-class infrastructure, experienced staff, and advanced therapy monitoring systems. This initiative is powered entirely through CSR funds and philanthropic donations, delivering hope—one session at a time.

Artificial Limb Center

Since 1981, KMYF’s Artificial Limb Center has been empowering the differently abled by providing over 53,000 artificial limbs and calipers at no-cost. This self-sufficient unit not only manufactures and fits custom made lower and upper limbs using indigenous materials and advanced techniques, but also supports patients with training and rehabilitation. The center is our first long-term project.

Mobile Dental Clinic

Launched in 2008, our fully equipped Mobile Dental Clinic brings oral healthcare directly to those who need it the most. By visiting government schools, orphanages, old age homes, and rehabilitation centers, we provide both preventive and corrective dental treatments—right at their doorstep. With over 48,000 people screened and 34,000+ treated, this initiative bridges the gap in dental care and promotes lifelong oral hygiene awareness.

Shiksha

Our Shiksha initiative transforms schools for underprivileged students. We adopted the Government School in Sarakki, providing essentials like uniforms, books & other study materials. Our support extends to building a computer lab with a full-time tutor on payroll, ensuring digital learning is within every child’s reach along with providing scholarship to 40+ students for higher education. Through Shiksha, we aim to nurture confident, capable, & curious young minds.
